Last Term
I can't believe a whole year has passed so quickly, I remember moving in to this little space like it was a few short weeks ago. The only housemate from this year, I'll live with next year is Vicky. We're living with Keiran and Joe from September... wonder what joys and horrors that shall bring us. I am really excited about making ourselves a little home, and being allowed to have my car is going to be bliss. I'll be able to park right outside my house and see my little Herb from my bedroom window, instead of parking him up scary alleyways to keep him hidden from the bastards of Unite.

One year on...
Josh and I got together and enjoyed a long happy summer getting drunk and suntanned with all our bests.

Flo and I passed our exams (just) and got into Bath and Falmouth universities. So we went out, and got drunk some more.
We celebrated one year of Layla.
I left for university after a fantastic send off at Zero with all the bests.
I arrived at uni. Met my flatmates, Krista, Jessie, Vicky and Claire and did Freshers Week.
We managed to form our own little Penzance community in Bath.
I made it back home for the important times. Halloween party at Jason and Lisa's with Joshua, Jenni and Floel.

Swimming in foreign waters
So far I have learned:
There are very, very speedy crabs that run really fast in and out of their holes on the beaches.
Tiny old women can carry your enormous, heavy suitcase on her head up flights of stairs without even breaking a sweat.
Chicken Tikka Masala is very, very tasty but 10x spicier than back home (Westeners Land)
The keyboard in this internet cafe is incredibly difficult to use.
The birds circling above the beaches and cliffs are vultures.
Cows are sacred, they take sleeps in the road and amazingly survive.
The road rules we seem to to understand is, beep to overtake during the day, and flash at night.
They are a few things, I thought it would be easier to write in bullet points because this keyboard is really really annoying!! Anyway, Alice and I are staying at the lovely Astoria hotel run by a gorgeous family that all help each other out all the time with the three young kids.
We did have a rat try and force it's way into our room by lifting all the roof tiles, that made me crave my own bedroom a wee bit but I am ultra pathetic in that case. The roads don't bother me too much, it's funny how many people can fit on one bike or one bus here. We saw a family of 4 on a teeny moped or way to our hotel, all waving and smiling at the fascinating white people. Also there are signs on the back trucks which say "Sound OK Horn"

There are stray dogs everywhere which makes me a bit sad because they remind me so much of Ky and Ted the way they do their yoga stretches etc.

The sea is warm but not hot (or cold which is a lovely change) and the sun is niiiiiiiiiiice!
Okay. Goodbye, love to Joss Joe, Joe, Mum, Nick, Vee, Teagan, Floella, Jenni and I'm sure whoever I have forgotten can give me grief when I get back home. Love you byexxxxxxxxx

Packing
Getting out all my summer clothes in February is very weird, but I am anticipating sunny good times in India. Anywhere the sun shines is good times to me really.
I never usually wear SPF 15 apart from on my face. I don't tend to burn but I am planning for big heat this holiday, so bring on the rays and the super high factor 25 sun cream in my suitcase.
I'm leaving tonight!
Train from Penzance leaves 9:30pm. Arrives at Gatwick at 5am. Our flight to Goa doesn't leave until bloody 3:45pm. We arrive in Goa 7am their time, but it will be 1am our time! It will be snoozes on the plane I hope.

Ky
So I remember always, these are things he liked very much...
Digging huge rocks and carrying them for ages and ages then dropping them and digging them again.
Chasing waves along the shore.
Stealing Pip's food by staring at him until he felt so uncomfortable he'd leave his dinner.
Being dried with a towel when he was wet because it was some form of attention.
Digging in the dunes at Gwithian beach, he really liked how the sand rolled down the cliffs for some reason?
Fighting with Pip in big fields, or at home all over the house.
Sneaking out of the garden to go down to the shop to see Mum or to the pub to see if Dad was there, or some nice kids who'll feed him.
Gravy bones.
Walks with mum and his brothers.
Stealing things from the bin.
Cuddles. When you sat down next to him for a cuddle he'd tuck his head into your neck. I will miss that more than anything else. He was the lovliest boy

He was ace. x
